Owner: Tom Cotter
Well-known car enthusiast and barn-find hunter Tom Cotter is the proud owner of a stunning 1964 AC Cobra 289, a classic American-British sports car with an iconic racing pedigree. This particular Cobra is one of the legendary models built by AC Cars and later modified by Carroll Shelby to house a potent Ford V8 engine, making it a formidable force on the road and track.
Cotter's Cobra is a well-preserved and extensively driven example of the 289 variant, which features a lightweight aluminum body, independent suspension, and a 289-cubic-inch (4.7L) small-block V8 engine. Producing around 271 horsepower in its original form, the Cobra 289 was a balanced blend of power and handling, offering thrilling performance in a compact, race-ready package. This is a very used car, and has never been restored. In the past 25 years, this Cobra has been driven across the United States, and was attacked by a bear while touring through Alaska!
