Not all cars are meant for the road. Richard Payne’s 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster was built for the track. With an eight-point roll cage, removable front and rear clips and a 650-horsepower 427 cubic-inch V8 engine, this Roadster has raced every year since 1973.
Traversing tracks from Canada and Road America to Sebring, the classic American muscle car has competed with SCCA, SVRA and HSR. The 2025 season marks three decades with Payne behind the wheel.
