The Ferrari 250 GT Tour De France was considered a sports car during the week and a competition car on race weekends. Many were owned and raced by privateers and others driven by successful racing drivers. The 250 GT Tour De France developed a history of racing successes over many years.

This car weighs about 2,400 lbs. The V12 engine includes alloy blocks and heads with magnesium cam covers and zinc carburetor bowls, capable of 295 horsepower and a top speed of nearly 150 mph. This 0733GT was purchased out of Milan, Italy, in 1970 from car designer Tom Meade by the current owner’s father.

It was previously owned by driver Francois Picard, who raced the car in numerous events, including: the 1957 Tour de France, where he and Maurice Trintignant took second place; the 1958 Buenos Aires 1000 km; 1958 Clermont Ferrand, Coupe de Vitesse; and the 1958 Auvergne 3hrs. This car was casually driven until 1973, when it was placed in storage.
